Voting for President of the US

It is your civic responsibility to vote for the President of the US. The vote for the highest office in the United States should never be taken lightly. I have heard many people say that they're all the same or my vote does not count, they are all crooked and/or out of touch with what it is really like to live in the real US as a citizen. Many vote because they like the person not paying attention to what their views are on major issues that will affect your life. Your vote does count because it gives you a right to verbalize things that are going on in our country that you like and do not like.

I say really do your homework

Should you vote for a president just because you like their personality?
The answer to this is NO. You can like the person but he may not make a good president.
What issues are important to you, the economy, the military, freedom in the constitution, healthcare or international issues.

Think about these issues:
Which candidate understands what it is like to be lower to middle class or poor in America?
I believe no candidate truly knows what it is like to live in middle and lower class America, How can you know unless you've actually lived it. What is it like to work a job that pays minimum wage and need food stamps to survive, not take a vacation or have enough money to buy gas to get to work. Not one government official could possible know what it is really like to actually live paycheck to paycheck. They have never lived like this in this day in time.

Do you feel like our government should be larger or smaller?
Romney is for smaller government and President Obama is all about large government.
Less government means less opportunity for corruption. More government means more taxes. I don't know about what you think but I would rather decide what my taxes should be spent.
 
As for balancing the budget we should hire ordinary Americans that live paycheck to paycheck to advise the President. They have more experience of how to live within a budget and cannot just print money they do not have when the balance is negative. They could teach our government a lot.

Decisions the President, Senators, congressmen and women make need to seek out and really listen to the Americans that actually live with their laws and legislation. Being poor or lower middle class in America is not as the government sees it because they think you should not have any problems. When you actually live it you know the real problems and faults within the system.

AMERICANS SPOKE LOUD AND CLEAR-VOTE FOR ANOTHER GOOD CAUSE

You really should be able to clearly see how important your VOTE is. Several places had recounts as the votes were too close. As Americans you spoke loud and clear. Our votes were a wake up call for the government reflecting what the majority wants. We are are beginning to take control of our country again by way of a single vote which spoke very clear. Now we will have to see if they listened.

Watching the elections was exciting to me and I want to congratulate all of you Americans that participated in the political process and I hope it made you feel a little more in control about the future of our country and where you want it to go for future generations. Participating in history just brings a lot of emotions and at the least you are trying to do something to preserve freedom and our rights.

I hope you felt good as I sure did. Now I am asking for your vote on a less important matter unless you are a real dog lover. My dog Sammy is very old and I entered him in a DOG CONTEST. Every owner of a dog thinks their dog is the best looking dog just as a parent feels his or her child is the best looking baby of all the babies in the nursery.

SAMMY, MY DOG, IS RUNNING FOR A CONTEST AND BECAUSE HE IS GETTING VERY OLD AND HIS WISDOM EXCEEDS ALL CANDIDATES IN THIS CONTEST I ASK YOU TO TAKE THE TIME AND VOTE FOR MANS BEST FRIEND. While Sammy is not running for president it does not mean that you couldn't take one minute to vote for my dog that has been my friend and many others as well all throughout his life. 

Sammy just recently became blind because of a cyst that grew after it was initially removed by surgery. Please do not hold this physical problem as a reason not to vote for him. He is still a strong minded dog and does his duty as being mans best friend. He survived one surgery to remove the but he cannot have another. This does not stop him. He is a real tough American dog born and raised with the spirit to survive, even without site. He never complained once and he desires no pity, only unconditional love

Even though Sammy has a cyst on his eye he is the kindest and a most gentle dog, loving and touching every person that he has came into contact with. My Son's First Voting Experience-A Day We Would Never Forget

When I heard my son ask if he could go with us to vote for the first time I was the proudest mother in the world.  He had just turned 18 on October 28 and it was just in time to VOTE in November, 1994. I knew then that what I had hoped to teach him while growing up really . As a parent we do a lot of teaching just by being good role models at home and we may not even be aware of it at the time. Taking my son to vote for his first time when he was 18 was an exciting experience and a great accomplishment as an parent.

We lived in a rural area and his first voting experience was an experience to remember. Sitting in a bathroom of a local church was used as the polling place for that blustery, brisk but sunny November day. It was very crowded this voting day so to move the lines quicker they used the bathroom for privacy as all the booths were full. They handed hand my son a Bible to place the voting ballot on as there was of course no solid surfaces to write on in a bathroom that was about 4' by 6' wide. 

The look on my sons face was one of surprise and then with a smile and a few laughs from all the voters around him he shut the door and did his duty as an American. I am sure that the the same thoughts and feelings that go through all the minds of a person that votes for the first time were going through his mind at the same time. His father and I along with my son had finished at the same time. To this day we all laugh when we talk about that day he voted.

My son voted every election since then and we all try to go together to this day. Now he has his own family I can be assured that he is teaching his own children the very same things we taught him about the power of your vote. As the Grandparents of his children we also tell them the story of their fathers first VOTING experience and use this moment in telling them how proud they should be to live in a country were they have the privilege to VOTE.
